David, I think you raise a very interesting question over nature, nurture and communication styles. I personally think there is so much variance and a continuum as you say. My instincts suggest it is more nurture than nature as I have come recently come to learn that males and females posses both masculine and feminine energies/ traits. So I am inclined to think environment and social conditioning probably play a bigger part but then whose to say there maybe bigger unforeseen factors at play.
