Hey Leah, appreciate your honesty. The world needs so much more of this right now. For so many of us our circumstances are such we are conditioned, exposed or choose to behave in a way that ultimately benefits us. It takes work, honesty and courage to look beyond and work against this basic principle. Which probably part reason we still need to have these conversations today! The question for all of us when we gain a new perspective or new found knowledge. Is always what are we going to do with the information.

As a parent of bi-racial boys I have been in the fortunate position to teach them what matters most. Is that first and foremost people are human and as you have said. Kindness and tolerance matter. It is unfortunate society and undoubtedly their own experiences have tried to teach them otherwise.
