It's a hard one Marie, something I think about often. I am lucky and perhaps in some ways privileged now that I am in the position I have the choice. Surprise, suprise I choose to work from home!
I do remember in a previous role experiencing the health difficulties with stress, and a general dislike of wasting hours in the car navigating traffic.
It's a sharp contrast from my much younger days when I did welcome the opportunity to travel, get into the office or visit somewhere new.
I agree with your points the decision to commute should be based on common sense for our individual health, the environment and more but sadly some companies still struggle with trust and and an archaic understanding of productivity.
