Writing about the summer in January feels at odds, not solely because of the contrasting weather but because it reminds me of good times and where I want to be and what could be.

Summer yearning is a teasing of the mind and spirit but also a useful means to finding purpose and something to drive and look forward to.

So, from time to time, I like to summon what summer brings and remind myself every year, every event in our lives has its seasons — a time to enjoy and savour, a time for rest and renewal, a time to endure.

It is the notion that we must endure that reminds me we exist in one of three states in relation to storms: preparing, going through them, recovering, rebuilding and reflecting.

Lessons always swirl around us even the storm that sweeps you up, spins you, spits you out and break all your bones is sharing lessons.
