Reading between the lines I can only guess at the parental situation and how both children must have felt.

You did well to stand-up and support them the best anyone could in that situation.

It is a heartbreaking read, let alone imagining being in that situation.

It truly does reflect the wider, bigger picture of where we are in society. What happened to recognising that it is in our gift to aim to never let another suffer in our presence?
