Max, you put forward well reasoned and strong arguments for abolishing the death penalty. I wholly agree and would add for those who argue that it serves as a deterrent. Evidence shows clearly this is not the case for all individuals.

I wonder how much we do today based on historic practices and misquoted arguments such as, "An eye for an eye."

I know these practices and arguments do not form the world I want to live in.
