Orla, what a wonderful endearing piece. I can't believe I didn't come across this before.

Ireland has been on my to-do list for sometime. We came close just before the pandemic with big plans to meet friends we made on holiday a few years back. Sadly it never materialised and then the pandemic hit. But it is still on my to do list.

Your question on why the interest in your travels. I think it is because how well you write and give an interesting perspective. I think also psychologically it appeals because you are out there, overcoming the hurdles, doing what you like. For many of us, myself included it is inspirational and something we aspire to if we can push past all the reasons, why not. Your underlying message about the importance of enjoying and living your life is the biggest gift in your writing. Just my 2 cents
