This May Be Premature but I Am Asking Medium Writers Anyway
Is it just me
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed a change in the people and publications they follow?
I am asking because this week, I stumbled across a couple of accounts and publications I don’t remember unfollowing.
It is starting to make sense now that I think about the absence of their stories from my feed. I first noticed a few weeks back but quickly dismissed the idea mainly because I am a sporadic reader at the best times. But then, with several good writers I used to follow deciding to focus their time and energy elsewhere, I rationalized away my initial suspicion.
But this week, with two accounts, two publications no longer on my follow list. I am starting to think something is amiss.
Anyone else notice? Or did I miss an announcement?
Have I been blocked? Disowned and left on the shelf?
Or is there some intelligence behind this phenomenon whereby Medium expects a minimum threshold of interactions; otherwise, it’s bye-bye?
I can’t think that is the case; otherwise, my follow count would be extremely low, but when I consider my reading patterns and my belief with at least one of the writers, we are still on good terms. I can’t believe for one…
