What If We All Recognised and Honoured Our Full Capacity to Be Kind

This is what it could mean

When we give verb to Kindness
we plant a pocket miracle
in the hands of another
saying I see the best part of me in you.

If we saw kindness as essential as water, I imagine we would be in a much better place. Not because it is a limited resource but because we would better understand and value our significance and our impact on each other.

I often think, what if we measured kindness like our economy? How different the world would be. Would we still consider ourselves as developed or recognise that we still have much to learn? It is strange that in our day to day lives we are in a constant exchange of kindness, primarily for our loved ones but occasionally for someone we don’t know. When this happens we immediately recognise the mutual benefit and often witness the ripple effect kindness has.

All said and done we are hard-wired as social animals and understand there is mutual benefit in helping others. It is just unfortunate that for many of us we are socially conditioned to believe kindness is a zero-sum game and there is a limited supply, when in fact the opposite is true.
