When On Lockdown — What Do You Do

There is no question you stay home, stay safe but then what

Lockdown, lockdown

Government got me on lockdown

For our collective safety

But how can that be

I am wrestling in isolation with my sanity

Inconsiderate you might say

The better part of me knows what you mean

But I am just saying

an imposed solitude is a finicky fiend

Like most things we need time to adjust

Let go of what was, and see what can be

I could volunteer my time

and support those on the front line

Or I could use the opportunity to invest in me

Now that I think of it

My to-do list needs a review

Time to tick off tasks

or maybe just tear it up and start anew

Maybe I could reach out to those in need

start with friends and family

and plant the seed

We can get through this together
